★ What is Sterling Silver?

Sterling Silver (also called .925 silver) is an alloy consisting of 92.5 percent fine silver and 7.5 percent other metals (usually copper).

★ How can I keep my Sterling Silver looking great?

Sterling Silver is susceptible to tarnish - this is a natural reaction the metal has with chemicals in the air. Frequent light polishing with a jewelry cloth will help minimize tarnish. You can also wash your jewelry periodically with mild dish soap and warm water - be sure to rinse well and dry completely before putting your jewelry away. Storing your sterling silver charms in an airtight plastic bag will help slow the process of tarnishing.

★ For jewelry that has been oxidized I do not recommend liquid cleaners - they will remove the oxidization. Just buff gently with a polish, or "sunshine" cloth, you should be able to find one at a bead or jewelry store. Best way to keep your silver glowing? Wear it often.

★ What should I avoid exposing my Sterling Silver to?

Harsh chemicals - cosmetics - hair spray - perfume - wooden jewelry boxes - extended exposure to direct sunlight.
